The trail starts from DN 12C national road, in front of the school in the village of Neagra. The first part of the trail is on the road that runs through the village along Paraul Neagra brook. The valley gradually becomes narrower and soon you get to the confluence of Neagra Mare brook with Neagra Mica brook. Continue to the left for about 2 km, on the forest road that climbs along Neagra Mare brook to the meadows located on the right side of road. Leave the forest road at the confluence of Neagra Mare brook with Urda creek and the path slowly leads you to the northeast through Poiana Neagra meadow and then to the north below Neagra Peak (1,138 m). From here, continue through the forest and in less than an hour reach Poiana Varatec meadow at the foot of Butu and Ana’s Tower over Varatec Peak (1362 m) and Curmatura Varatec saddle. In the saddle, come across the red dot trail that comes from Poienile Stanilelor meadows. Further, the trail descends gently through the coniferous forest, then along the edge of the forest, on the contour line, and climbs to the signpost from Poiana Maicilor meadow, where it comea across Trail no. 3 (red stripe). The two routes continue together towards Ocolasul Mic Plateau and further, above the steep slope from Fundul Ghedeonului, until they reach the plateau and the campsite on Piatra Lata a Ghedeonului Cliff. Walk for about 10 more minutes and reach Dochia Hut.
